I'm planning to sell my Adaptoid on eBay. What price should be given for it?

Jaz

No idea.

How come you're selling it?

smcd
July 2nd, 2006, 20:36
I'd start it off at $15 - $20 since new (at ztnet at least) it was $29.xx but yours is used I'm assuming. It will likely progress to above $30. (prices quoted in USD)

No idea.

How come you're selling it?

Because I need money and I heard that people are paying more than $100 for them in eBay.

EDIT: Here is where I saw the crazy prices they pay for it.

Does ZTnet or other store are currently selling them?

Someone offered me $200 by PM a week or so back. They haven't posted on the board though so I was a tad sceptical. If they read this they can have it for $150 ;) or 2 for $250 :D

Why would anyone buy a CONTROLLER ADAPTER for $150+!? Nice profit yes, but are people really so desperate? I wonder if I could get $300 for my NES controller. :P

Edit: Speaking of Ebay. I just happened to look for Chrono Trigger. Look at this: http://cgi.ebay.com/Chrono-Box-For-SNES-Chrono-Trigger-Super-Nintendo-RPG_W0QQitemZ160007261702QQihZ006QQcateg oryZ62053QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

The guy wants to sell a Chrono Trigger BOX(as in no game included) for $49.99... Claims it is in mint condition when the pics he has clearly show it's not -_-. So, this guy wants to sell a torn-up piece of cardboard for $50. Some people just need to be smacked.

Wait, I was wrong about it only being the box!

Please note this auction is for the box only not the cartridge. However; as an additional courtesy to this auction and You the buyer, we are adding the white cardboard cartridge holder & a plastic cartridge protector (dust cap) both in good condition.

So, it's not only a torn-up piece of cardboard, but TWO pieces of cardboard and a piece of plastic. Wow, that's all I needed to hear. I'm sold! :P

Jaz

LOL

He calls this mint condition:

Just listed one of mine. I put it as used under the description, but this one I only actually checked that it worked (which it did). Apart from that it was unused, still least I'm honest.

I know the price seems high, but that seems about the going rate.

Yeah I thought it was just the generic blurb at first, then I noticed you had done it. I changed it a tiny bit :) Added a bit at the bottom too.

Awesome Torek, nice profit.. but for that much, you could have gotten an old N64, tons of games, 4 controllers, expansion pack, etc etc.. :P Also, cutting the N64 controller wire and finding the correct wires to connect to a male USB should allow the adaptoid driver to be used as it doesn't seem like there's any extra hardware on the converter.. may be wrong on that though.

Mine is up to $208 with the last minutes of the auction left. Trouble is the person who bid that amount has a -1 rep (so will be waiting for funds to clear).

Will annoy me if he is pissing about as the $125 bidder may just get one from elsewhere in the meantime!

I believe you can do second-chance offers to the next-highest bidder if the winning person skips out on paying... hopefully you'll get the insanely high amount of $208 :P Man, I am really having a hard time resisting the temptation to sell my adaptoids...

You should have blocked bidding from buyers with negative reputation in your eBay preferences, thats what I did.

Congrats Trotterwatch! Excellent Profit! Good luck with the guy with negative feedback. If I were you, I would try to give the second chance to the guy that offered $206 inmediatly if that's possible, that's just 2 bucks less :)

Trotterwatch
July 29th, 2006, 10:36
The problem is the only reason it went to over $200 was because of this other bidder. If I offer the 2nd chance, shouldn't it then go back to the original bid (ie before the bidding war started).

I was going to ask you for that guy's email :P Ebay wouldnt let me message him because i'm not in a transaction with him. go figure

Anywho, i got mine listed -> http://cgi.ebay.com/Adaptoid-N64-Controller-to-USB-Interface-Cable-NA105_W0QQitemZ290013041000QQihZ019QQcat egoryZ21200QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

I sorta bs'd about the whole NA105 thing, but it made sense so I went with it.

I saw yours go for 208? So i put BIN @ 200, thats still a 666.66% profit on a 30 buck adaptoid.. er... okay thats not a good sign

anywho, we'lll see how it goes. its my only adaptoid but thats too much $$ to turn down

6.66% not 666.66% ;)
No, it's 566.666% profit:
200 - 30 = $170 profit
170 / 30 = 5.666 = 566.666% profit ;) ;)

$125 which would still do me - though I know from the history the bidder would have went higher (which is why I was hoping the other buyer would pull out).

Never count on a person pulling out, people get caught up in the moment and... (yes, this applies to bidding as well.) I myself have a bad habit of upping my previous maximum bid just for that "win" feeling - mind you I don't go much higher and DO pay if I win ;)
