banner thingy

i was wandering around and noticed that many ppl had of these things which i don't know its name:

what's the name of these little banner thingys or w/e

I like those things too and never knew what they were called. :D Perhaps I shall add one to my sig too, as they don't hog too much space.

There is such a thing as too many userbars you know, and your sig is a bit too large imo. Look at toasty's sig, he only has to use the space of one user bar and it switches between what he uses.

Ya, I'm using 1280x1024 and it still takes up way too much screen area. Use Toasty's method.

Thanks to you all! I found the animated userbar create thingy but having problems copying my URL's, it doesnt accept them! What am i doing wrong?

You can also create an animated gif with for example Macromedia Firefox and use as many bars you like. :P

OK, I worked it out, as you can see. However, for some reason it wont let me use all ten userbars. It keeps on coming up wrong size or something which is a load of crap.

I wonder if you can use if with MSN, like put it in the personal message box or something, that would be way cool. If anyone knows how please let me know.

Edit: The userbar creator thingy is dodgy in http://www.signaturebar.com/ It wont let you use more than six userbars and thats if your lucky - most of the time it just stuffs up... so annoying.

http://ubanimator.com/ You can have ten userbar thingys... yummy. Just thought i save people the trubble i had getting the damn thing to work.

Oh yeah, its much easier to save the userbars in your pictures folder or whatever to use later than to copy/past the URL code in one at a time*

Probably meant Fireworks, and for people on the cheap, Flash, Photoshop, and Fireworks are not options. Paint Shop Pro or the GIMP can also likely do it (I know the GIMP can) and are cheaper. :)

I asked this before but is it possible to paste your userbar in MSN in your personal message bar or in your display picture but somehow shrink it down cos its too large or just anywhere. Or is userbars just limited to forums and chat columns?

this banner thingies appear here b/c of the (copy-past)ing of the HTML code that the website give to us, so you cannot use it on any personal messages thing on MSN (at least on an un-hacked version)
