As was stated in the article, 60 feet is a lot to be digging an unreinforced hole!

what did he dig it with? And how can you have a 60 ft. hole and have it go unnoticed during the dig?

I just saw a report on it on the news, it was about 5-10 feet in diameter, but im still surprised how he dug for so long undetected.
