Okay, I need to put in a cheat code in No Mercy ( [!] version) so I can use different coloured ropes. When I go to right click it, where it would usually come up "Add new cheat" it just jumps down to the next cheat in the menu. I've tried reinstalling PJ64, is there any way around this?

The solution is quite easy, it just means that you need to go to the menu in "Options", than "Settings..." and than on the "Options" tab of that dialog you need to uncheck "Hide advanced settings". That is all.

Unless you hack the ROM, as I would. Some people add cheats the easy way.

Not all people use GS codes to cheat. If you think that's lame then you'd say something like changing Link's colours is lame too...
