Just read the article and check out the screenshots. Pretty amazing, no? I just want to know how fast those demos were running. It seems to me that the GBA is obviously more capable than it is given credit for although I have always felt this way. I can't wait to pick up any games that use this 3D engine. No more fake 3D, and camera tricks (mode7) this is the real thing! http://gamespot.com/gamespot/stories/news/0,10870,2854517,00.html

Extremely cool. If that runs as good as it looks, it gives the GBA a whole new dimension.

Who knows... But for pure gaming I would prefer remakes of classic SNES games over emulated current ones.

Back to topic, head over to http://www.raylight.it/blueroses.htm and take a quick peep at the movies...

One wonders how they'll fit much data on a cart, though..

Slougi
March 15th, 2002, 17:02
They won't need very much. It's mostly the wireframe models and textures, which take up less space than 2d sprites.

Jaz
March 15th, 2002, 17:14
Oh, that's sweet then.. :D

2D sprites DO own, they have heck of a lot more personality than a bunch of polygons.

Slougi
March 15th, 2002, 22:23

this gives good cause to increase the size of the games and a brand new final fantasy or zelda, maybe!

Firstly: OMG! That looks sweet.

Secondly: Polygons are good. All you need is cel shading :)

personally I've had enough of cell shading, every developer is doing it now, it's just become a heavily overused gimic now

you know, i've always thought whether to save for a GBA ($279 NZ) or a PS2 ($700 NZ) i've made up my mind now, especially with the new graphics engines. mebbe they should revive ff4, 5, 6 and 7 of GBA :P oh, and have you seen the size of the mario advance catradges? they're tiny! and given that the GBA can still play old games, just think how much more stuff the developer will be able to get into a catridge the size of a Pokemon Red one :P
