jmf145, I have 3 questions for you:

- are you using "3" and "4" buttons (if so, how?) or F5 and F7?

- I'm using a similar Logitech controller (http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/products/details/US/EN,CRID=2225,CONTENTID=8674)
at which percentage have you setted analog stick range?

- why have you associated analog stick with digital stick and viceversa?

im using 3 and 4 buttons witch push F5 and F7

i set the analog stick to 100%

and the reson the analog stick and the d-pad are swiched is because the emulater does not work with analog so it does not matter if its a analog stick or a d-pad (plus it makes it easier to play)

Why have you changed default? Any advantage?

Strage, here analogic works well (tested with Mario Kart 64 on pj64 and Logitech Rumble 2)!
