I have been using PJ 64 since it's inception, but never really played games that I actually owned on the console until I got to college, and realized how much space a tv takes up. Now I have Majora's Mask on PJ 64, and for the record, EVERY one of the 64 games I have works except this one. I cannot select the items in the subscreens. I have found the .7z file with all of the localizations in it, even checked them with Good64 and such, reinstalled PJ64, but I still am unable to access the items on the subscreen. The buttons are opaqe, and all I can do is to "roll" the menu around.
3.2Ghz intel,drivers good
1 GB of DDR2 Ram
nVidia GeForce 6600GT Video card.
It's not the hardware, but it's bothering me. And yes, I have been switching drivers. No avail. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks!

I have configured the buttons before, during, and right after playing. As I have said, I have had Project 64 for a long time, and I have played many games, I just don't see why this happens to this game only. I even had gotten all of the other localizations of it, but I can't seem to shake the problem. It's bugging the crap out of me too.

It's confusing what the problem is here. If you are seeing something abnormal in-game, like buttons becoming greyed out, post a screenshot.
If the menu keeps rolling and you can't select items in the menu, that is normally due to you mapping the D-Pad to the same thing as the analog stick on your controller. If so, map them differently.
You also can't use all the items when using a transformation mask.

I went and found the .ini for the configurations settings and deleted it, then remapped all of the buttons again, and now I can select the items, but using the D-pad instead of the analog stick. Everything seems to work now, but now that I know how to fix it, I am going to try to see what the problem was, I have the original .ini on my desktop now, and I'm comparing them, seeing if it was a version msimatch or what. Aggravating, but fixed now. Thanks guys.

It was because your digital buttons were the same as the analog. They should not be.

I have a controller with a little button on it marked "digital"
clicking it switches the controls from the View Hat(D-pad) to the Analog Stick.
Meaning, the problem is with your controller settings, not the emulator.
Look around, if it's not a button on your actual controller then there should be something in the software including with your pad that would be able to fix it.
