I'm trying to install my new BOOM N64/USB converter. I'm running XP SP2 on a pretty new computer (only 4 months old) with current versions of DirectX and Project64. Basically, when I plug in the device Windows recognizes it as a USB device, then as USB human interface device, but then it says there was a problem installing and the hardware may not work correctly. Well, I tried uninstalling and installing multiple times with different USB ports and with and without the N64 controller plugged into the device, all to no avail. When I try to configure the controller in Project64 it is not recognized AT ALL. What am I doing wrong? Thanks for your help.
EDIT: I just tried it with another computer in the house and it installed fine. What's wrong with my computer?
