What are your computer specs + what plugins are you using?

I assume you have an OpCode error from reading your issue. I've heard that there is a bug of some sort when escaping with epona and some place in the cavern too. (In some forum i was reading about opcode errors). Anyhow, the way I got rid of those errors was finding out that my ROM wasn't valid. you can make sure your ROM is valid by checking it with good N64 or simply downloading a whole new ROM online.
