Morrowind
you wanna be well prepared for Oblivion.

also wait for Prey to come out and Hellgate London.
they will be awsome (try not to hate them just cause they're first-person)

Play Broken Sword 3: The Sleeping Dragon. While not nearly as good as the 2D prequels, it's still fun.

Knights of the temple 2 is a good hack and slash, so is dynasty warriors 4 hyper.
For the sake of difference.

Only new games I'm playing right now are a few FPS. If your don't mind some older titles that maybe you have not played before

Balders Gate 1 and 2
Neverwinter Nights

I've seen both of these in platinum or bundled editions for $20 or less at Wal-Marts and Targets. I actually bought NWN platinum for $13 on a clearance. Well worth it if you've never played them.

For a real change of pace you may give the Freedom Force games a shot. They were pretty fun to play as I remember.

I think you might like Zelda- The Ocarina of Time. It's a really fun game if you haven't beat it before. A great adventure game of its time. Free as well. The best emulater in my opinion is project 64.

It is not "free". The objective is to own the original first before using the ROM.

Not to mention Zelda, ocarnia of time is not a PC game.

Why dont you get some Monkey Island games? They're old, but they're cheap.

Brilliant games too.

Just what he said there is no monthly fee you only have to pay for the original copy to have your S/N and be able to play

For Guild Wars there´s that kind of "pay per ammo" crap or is it all free?

noals
January 9th, 2006, 05:48
you only have to pay one time for your game.

You could also give Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic a try. It is probably one of the best games I've ever played on the pc. You can find it now for around $20 or less new.

I second that. I beat the first one about a year ago and am playing the second one now - both great RPGs.

Well I do happen to own Zelda Oot.

So lets review. I play em on the computer. Nobody pays for them. They are games. So this is my logic. Free+Computer+Game= (drumroll) A free computer game. Make sense to you?

So? I emulate many many games too. They are not PC games. You are just using the PC to emulate the console of choice. Oh yeah, and it's not free. It's stolen. Did you pay for the game?

Open your eyes. I said that I OWN Zelda Oot, which implies that I payed for it.

It's just my logic. it's a game on the computer, in computer format. Which makes sense to say it's a computer game. Doesn't it?

WhiteX

no, an emulated game is one thing, a computer game is another.

Ok. You have a copy. You downloaded it. Oh look, another "copy". Did you pay for that? I hate how people think that since you have one copy of a game, they can download it "legally". And as WhiteX has stated, emulated games and PC games are different. If you emulate an NES game, it isn't a PC game but a NES game.

Z dude, it is pointless, you will never convince him and the more you try, the more "fun" he´ll take out of this, let go.
He has the game, rom or not, and that´s it.

To triplethreat:

Look up the definition of emulation dumbass, actually, I think you're too stupid to do that so I'll get it for you:

4 entries found for emulation.

1. Effort or ambition to equal or surpass another.
2. Imitation of another.
3. Computer Science. The process or technique of emulating.
4. Obsolete. Jealous rivalry.

I've put the most relevant one in bold, it doesn't matter what logic you use, you are wrong and you wouldn't listen to me if I said that potato chips were logically cakes now would you, potato chips are baked therefore they must be cakes!

WhiteX

Alchemist

Actually, Potato chips aren't normally baked, they're fried.

However, Baked Lay's, the healthy alternative to the normal chip, are baked.

Wow, all of you get so bent out shape for nothing. I showed my
point of view and you guys put out 5 replies. Who cares if emu roms should
or shouldn't be called computer games. It doesn't matter if I think they should or shouldn't be called computer games. Chill out. Dont get so hung up on trivial matters. I didn't mean to offend you guys if i did. Calm down.

And to everybody else: I'm sorry for accidentally hijacking this thread.

WhiteX

No, dude, it is not trivial, you see, this is a public forum with very strict laws about piracy, so, say an unimformed person comes here and read what you wrote and we do nothing about it, what would it look like? Like EMTK condones emulation as a form of piracy, if we think that an emulated game is a free PC game.
I am no mod and no mod got into this matter but the older members tend to care about the community and we do not want it shut down, now, do we?

Oh, and i am yet to try one of them baked potatoes! :P

Offend? In no way did you offend me and probably the other two who responded to your comment. You state your 'fact' and I state mine. Part of forums is discussion on material.
