I haven't tried it yet, but I hope this one works. R13I & beta both crashed at startup. Fingers crossed, eh?

Appearantly the sound code was causing the problems, and it was completely rewritten from scratch.

Thanks for that, it was incredibly helpful.

Reading the SSF forums, it seems the problem was noted, and some kind of new version was released. Someone also said he had success when he changed the sound buffer. He has the same chip as me, an ac97. Maybe that's the problem....

There is nothing you can do wrong.

The same thing happens to me.

I have ac97 sound too.
Perhaps you should update your drive=

Setting the sound buffer to 2048 samples when starting the emulator for the first time fixed the problem for me (I also have AC97). Just make sure to delete "SSF.ini" before doing that. Of course it may not work, but you don't lose anything by trying. ;)

I've never had a single SSF problem, and I have an Audigy..

About this version, the sound emulation is MUCH, MUCH better than in previous versions. It's also quite a bit faster!

PsyMan's right, changing that setting worked for me anyway

I hear that there is a fix available for this build. Perhaps you guys can try it:
