I'm having problems with my monitor displaying 640x480 and 800x600 resolutions. The screen gets clipped of on the sides and it's rounded off on the sides. Does anyone know how to fix this. I have a Viewsonic G90fb-2 19" crt monitor, geforce fx6800.

Have you tried resizing the screen to the specific image?

I really shouldn't have to do that. It will resize once in a while, but that's rare.

CRTs generally save a different screen size/adjust setting for each resolution+refresh rate combination. Note that refresh rate is part of it. If you have the 800x600x85Hz properly sized, and then switch to 800x600x60Hz, you will have to resize it again. However once you adjust it, the monitor should continue to use that setting whenever you use the same resolution and refresh rate again.

What if a game doesn't allow me to change the refresh rate? Is there a program that allows me to change the refresh rate for each resolution?
