adjusting chankast clock speed

bad for the pc? hmm i don't think it does anything harmful to your computer. at least from my experience.

some of the moderators pointed out that this was 'risky' before on another post... and i believe i've heard it elsewhere too but no one's ever explained it

I doubt that this could happen, although there could be some software 'tricks' used by chankast that could potentially overheat the processor.

As far as I can see boosting the clockspeed in chankast does not effect the priority of the process, so in theory there shouldn't be a problem. Changing the priority is probably more likely to overheat the processor.

Since you are overclocking the emulated processor and not your actual PC CPU, and that Chankast will steal 100% CPU anyway (since it has no limiter or sleep when idle code), it will not change a thing.

What the guy probably meant that it may cause issues in the emulated game, since the games was not designed with a variable clockspeed in mind and may screw with the timing.
