Emulators are not illegal because they don't go against any copywrite laws. Emutalk doesn't like people asking for roms because it's illegal, read the rules.

First off the name is called emutalk asshole. And if you read the rules maybe you'd realize that you get banned for asking for roms or giving out to links to websites and such. I shouldnt even be telling you that. Look for roms somewhere else, these forums arent meant to give you links to download them.

Prepare to experience the banning. Maybe if you edit your posts and remove the requests the mods will have mercy on you.
EDIT: Also, emulators are not illegal - they are only software that behaves like hardware. Commercial ROMs (like Smash Bros) are protected by copyright laws and are illegal to distribute.

i thought emus were illegal because there emulating a console that you need money for. thats as bad as stealling an n64 isnt it? or is there not a law against stealing an n64 that hasnt been made yet or making an n64?????? i read somewhere it is illegal to make an n64 so then how can you emulate oe without breaking that law????????

If I grow corn in my garden is it illegal because it's something I would normally have to go to a grocery store for? Emulators are just software that does an effective job of imitating the behavior of hardware. None of the original hardware is distributed with the emulator (that would make emulator downloads a little more difficult ;)). If emulation were illegal, then every single CPU would have to have brand new software written specifically for it, since it would be illegal for the CPU to emulate the original 286's (or whatever processor first used x86) x86 instruction set. This thread should be locked - the original question is inappropriate to the forum.
