megadrive anyday, snes may hav been a better machine, but nothing beats a good 'ol game of streets of rage and sonic. more memories, golden axe 1 and 2, toe jam and earl, californian games.
the best game of all though was Mickey Mouse: Castle of Illusion, and im seriously not joking, i loved that game so much, and it really was a decent platformer. no disney game on the snes got close to that.....
just wondering wat the rest of u think...

Mario kart on the snes, was there a better game than that?:D :alien:

I hated mario kart, donno why. Although there were some trippy games on the SNES, I like Yoshi`s Island so much.
Anyway, the best Mickey Mouse game imho was on the NES, I can`t even remember its name now, but it was friggin cool.

The 16bit war was probably the most closest of battles between consoles. Both consoles had killer games, it's a difficult one too call. Very difficult.

SNES had better racing games, but Mega Drive had the killer sports titles..

I would say impossible... I am glad they released both... :D I can say one thing for sure though, they outperformed their successors in terms of shear joy and gameplay....

SNES. It had Mario World, Yoshi's Island, Zelda, and Metroid. The Sonic series(while fun) can't touch that.

ahh good ol' aladdin!
my local boys+girls club used to have an NES, SNES, and Genesis and you would stand in line and play games and switch every 5 mins or something..
anyway, that was THE game.. Sonic 2, Aladdin, and MK2 all freakin day :O
damn i miss that

hmm, this is difficult. All in all I would say SNES, I am a big rpg fan, and the snes had more. SoM, SoE, FF, CT, ToP, SO..... the list goes on. On the other hand the mega drive had lunar, shining force and phantasy star, among others. All in all both are good. Maybe i would buy a Mega Drive, and get a Mega CD just to play Silpheed again, a space shooter :)

mickey's magical adventure was shite compared to castle of illusion. contra was ported onto the megadrive. aladin was better on the megadrive (different games), castlevania was also ported on the megadrive and mortal kombat 2 included. and gunstar heros was fucking ill game, still play it. there was another fucking wacky game that rocked, i think it was called de-cap attack, i had the version though.

SNES all the way. Why?
1. Super Mario World Biggest game I ever saw. Loads of levels
2. Zelda: A link to the past 'Best Zelda ever' goes to either Ocarina of Time, or this one.
3. Donkey Kong Country 2 Damn those graphics were l33t!
4. Donkey Kong Country After getting DKC2 I had to have DKC too
5. Secret of Mana Need I say more?
6. Turtles 4: Turtles in Time 2 players, same time, in a 'platformer', fighting baddies? WE NEED MORE LIKE THAT!
7. F-Zero Another one that doesn't need explanation. Mute City!
8. Super Scope 6 Yeah. Games were crap, but the bazooka was pretty l33t
Never liked Super Mario Kart. Or Super Mario World 2 (Yoshi's Island).

hehe.. remember the sega saturn? that system was leet :)
Area 51, Revolution X, Virtua Cop 1+2.. + the leet virtua gun
Daytona USA, Daytona USA: Champ Circuit, Sega Rally .. +steering wheel
Nights, Panzer Dragoon series, burning rangers, shining force III, rayman, resident evil, virtua cop 1+2, Mortal kombat 2+3+ultimate.. damn.. does it get any better?
i love the saturn b/c of its variety of accessories (steering wheel, virtua gun, flight stick, arcade pad), and it had a nifty 3d controller for nights
too bad the system was dramatically underrated and was hard to program for :(

I always thought that the MK series on the MD was better than on the SNES. Donno, it was much more playable, it was easier to pull moves on the MD. And the MD had Fatal Fury 1 and 2, and a better Samurai Showdown version than the SNES one.

go for it fizban! :D
is it a model 1 or model 2?
model 1 - mk-80000 [oval buttons]
model 2 - mk-80000A [circle buttons]
model 2's are amazingly easy to mod.. and since a lot of jap games were never translated and converted to english text.. it might be a good thing to do
either way, its a great deal and you should go for it =)
if you ever need any games, i've got about 40 now that i could "let you borrow" :P
sytaylor: nights is good i guess, i am still trying to figure out how to beat the dragon at the end of stage 1.. help? :)
right now i'm hooked on virtua cop 2 and daytona USA.. and when Mk2 and some other great games come in.. yea.. Mk2 owns =D
And, of course, Panza Dragon Saga i'd play it.. if it had ~$150 to buy it of course :P

my m8 has like every collectable game for it....panza dragoon saga, radient silvergun, nights, christmas nights, samari spirits, and other ones which ive completely forgetton the name of. mainly japanese. its alrite the saturn, but didnt really touch on the megadrive in terms of games. had some decent 2d fighting games, probably the best available, other than the ones on the dreamcast.....
the dreamcast was definitely decent though, shame it had to die like it did, still has some quality games on it.

you poor soul, the true beauty of this game is yet to be revealed... and as for the boss, its been a while, but you gotta stick to his head then dash into it which hurts him, then rush around and try to land on his head again
sk8bloke, the saturn owned, more than nay other console i ever had, the games it had were simply amazing
