Whenever I try to open either games on my visualboy advance(ver.1.7.1)
It says: Error reading image trm-fess. gba

Maybe this dump is a bad one? (I found it via google, 672 KB (688,128 bytes) you might want to remove the name from your post just in case...) It locks up the emulators I tried, VBA 1.7.2 and no$gba so it's likely a bad dump.

1. Update your VBA: http://board.zsnes.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=2248

2. You'll need to set the savetype to Automatic + Flash 128k for Pokemon Emerald to work.

3. Both games work fine for me.

it still doesnt work i tried ver.1.8.0 beta and it still doesnt work
Maybe i need to unzip the file?
If I do need to how do I zip a file...

In that case, you probably do not have a rom at all. Unzip it and post the GBA Tool Advance (http://www.gbadat.altervista.org/gbata.htm) output. Do not use any of the other options.

ok i downloaded the gba tool thing now what..
And I know this is a newbie question but: How in the world do you unzip a file -.-

Download just about any archiving program. I use WinRAR.

Windows XP also has a built-in extractor.

Well I don't think my ROM is really a ROM. I tried searching on google but none of the websites contained one that works and some take too long to download...

You are not allowed to ask for sources of roms or reveal sources of roms on this website since it is against the rules and is also illegal to do. I suggest you edit your post.

The correct CRC's and sizes for the US roms according to the latest nointro dat file are:

Fire Emblem - The Sacred Stones (U) - a47246ae [16MB]
Pokemon Emerald (U) - 1f1c08fb [16MB]

Once you learn how to get at your rom that is.

Well is it possible for me to change that? Cuz my fire emblems size is 8MB
and the CRC is different too. Should i get another one?
