Obviously, I'm asking about it mostly because of Indy & the Infernal Machine, apparently the most requested unsupported game of them all, judging by the forum posts about it :D - I know it's not supported in any emulator, but I was wondering if those in the know could leak any information whether or not there was any progress about that unsupported ucode that causes its incompatibility with the emulators, some progress that might lead to its eventual support...?

wrong forum, this should be in General N64 Emulation
(btw, we get more people asking about Rogue Squadron/Naboo than Indiana Jones).

AFAIK, this would require enough documentation regarding this μCode or extreme reverse engineering skills as well as extreme coding skills and a lot of imagination... Some people tried to support it but withough good results... (Nemu?)
A low level video plugin could also be the solution but AFAIK the ones who tried to create such a plugin managed to do it with a major hit on the emulation speed (unplayable speed).
A N64 video plugin coder could be more helpful on this subject...
