Agreed. We all hate lamers. However, it sounds like the author was looking for an excuse to stop the developent of the emulator.

Maybe the author thought that the majority of people don't like how RockNES evolved. It's sad to see a poll with only two negative votes.
I don't think that he really wanted to stop the development since another developer joined him. Maybe he just had a bad day or found it pointless to continue since there wasn't much interest.

This reminds me of the old days where lots of emu coders would quit working on their emulator because of "lamers", recieve sympathy and praise, then resume work. Luckily times have changed. This isn't the first time rocknes has been cancelled due to "lamers", and I also believe he was looking for a way out, although this way out is not very noble. I think the best situation would to not give them any attention as they so desire. my 2 cents :P
