this game is a real mystery for me ... (i'm not speaking of nushi zuri 64, it's not the same game)

basically there is not a lot of information on it and it was only released in Japan

this game is working only with 1964 and Nemu with direct64a (in fact 3d gfx can be displayed by any other plugin but not 2D(black screen)) but i can't pass the menu as there is just sound and again black screen

and i'm trying to find:

1) if it's a problem of core if i can't get in game
2) or if it's a problem of gfx plugin as there is sound after the menu but there is just a black screen

if someone could help me to do this impossible quest it would be nice

here a screenshot with direct64a:

Edit/

I get the character select screen, the name input screen, then the rom goes mental :) Nemu appears to have a bloody good go at loading it past that stage though (if you disable show errors). 1964 tries to, PJ64 won't allow me to load it at all.

yeah i have exactly the same behavior ... It could be both; a core and a gfx problem. It's really sad because it's nearly emulated ...

If you use the no audio plugin in 1964 the game boots faster and gets to the part where it hangs much faster. No point in that other than it may help to quickly test configs :)

yep thanks :)

i tested again with Nemu and i found that with normal settings it was hanging but with CF=8 (debug cheat count increase) and disabling sync game to audio help to not hangs. i can even make a savestate (which is impossible with 1964) but well still nothing else :(

still working on it.

What about the boot code and the possibility to fix in order to play it ? i don't know but i'm looking forward to seeing this

:)

it works with blade64 too
still the same behavior :(

olivieryuyu
February 20th, 2005, 16:23
it works with apollo 0.3: same behavior but it's said that the emulator have a problem with this rom and it's unlikely that it can continue :(

olivieryuyu
February 20th, 2005, 16:44
it works with daedalus too
same behavior: the cpu is still running, sound is still running, no gfx and no control

:(

olivieryuyu
February 20th, 2005, 19:54
ok it's a core problem: here what i get with 1964 0.73:

error : branch in branch delay slot PC=800F9790

No emulator supports this game afaik :(

I think that emu core and plugin problems,

and

ROM's issue...

I think, "Nushi Zuri 64 - Shiokaze ni Notte (J) [!]" that is registered to GoodN64 is Bad dump rom.

hmm well how can we be sure it's a bad rom ? May be it's just a core problem. I think too that the rom is bad but i can't be sure

the only way to know it's a bad rom is to dump it again ...

:)

I dumped it with myself;)

Do you know that there is ROM that was registered wrong to "[!]" with goodN64?

There were several roms marked with [!] that were in fact bad dumps. I remember Yoshi's Story (E), Holy Magic Century (G) and some more in earlier goodn64-versions.

You redumped Nushi Tsuri? Great! Can you post an ips-patch to get the correct rom?

olivieryuyu

yeah an ips patch would be nice

check also your PM ...

:)

PS: i think that also those could be bad dump: Yousuke Ide's Mahjong School and Yakouchuu II: Satsujin Kouru can be bad dump

how do you know for the list above ? i'm ok to trust you but well how do you do your tests ? i can understand for the overdump roms but the others ?

Thanks

How did you do that ?

here what i get with apollo 0.15 beta

look at the difference with my log in apollo beta:

Allocated 3800000 bytes for ROM Image (is 4000000 for you, which is correct)
CRC Failed. Oops? 00000000 (your CRC is correct, not mine)

what is the weight of your dump ? 28MB ? the dump that you have is 32 MB, isn't it ?

can you play the game ? (of course with the bad gfx that you have but it could be fixed)

you used an adaptoid ? can you make a test and see if it's still working without ?

what's your configuration ? (plugins)

Thanks again Jelta :)

I dumped 32MB but maybe 28MB is correct
the game is playable I can control it

plugins
Direct64 v0.5 ALPHA
Azimer's HLE Audio v0.55
N-Rage`s Direct-Input8 V2 1.83
all settings are default is ok
also works without an adaptoid

PS if use both Direct64 Rice or TR64OGL and 1964 pj64 or daedalus
hangs after name input

the dump 32MB is surely a good dump and the 28MB a bad dump :(

can you boot your dump with PJ64 ?

Thanks

can you tell us the crc of your romfile please? (and the format of course .z64 etc.). Or even better: Can you post a patch?

I never make it.

It helps everyone. I don't understand why so many japanese keep the dumps they make :S

Can you at least give us size and crc of the rom? If Jelta does it too we can see if your 2 dumps match and we have the verified crc.

G.A.S.P!! Fighter's NEXTream (J) [!] (GoodDump is [b1])
Ganbare Goemon - Neo Momoyama Bakufu no Odori (J) (GoodDump is [b2])

Did you dump the games and your dumps were identical to the b1 and b2 or do you just guess these are the correct dumps? Thank you!

to make it booting with pj64 or mupen use lemasm and change the size of the rom to 256 mbits, save, change size to 224 mbits and the crc is fixed.

but there is still the menu bug afaik. As i can't have an ips patch i'll try with despair to fix the rom :(

Seeing how close the expected CRC1 is to the calculated one (5B9B1618 - 5B9A9618) - A9 instead of B1, it might be just 1 or 2 bytes that are wrong in the goodn64-dump.

i don't think so. the game is lost afaik :(
