At&T digital Cable: Improved visual quality or Improved channel choice?

I just got a 36 inch sony trintron wega moniter, hd and all that good stuff. Well i keep seeing those commericals about AT&T digital cable, well, is it digital cable as in enhancement for people that have hd tv's like me? Or is it just some dumb add-on to add a million channels to your tv set and no improved picture quality? any one know?

Well, I don`t know much about AT&T, but I have something similar here in Israel. I have a 33" Grundig 100 mhz tv, and when I was connected with an analog receiver, before I got the digital one, there was a very big picture quality when I got the 33" TV. But when I use the digital, I see no difference between the other TV`s that I have in the house, that also use a digital receiver. Yet the picture quality is very good.
But basically, we didn`t get the digital receivers for the picture quality alone, we get quality channels (we had free porn channels for like 3 months :)), and cool interactive services.
