Hi, I'm getting extremely low fps for Perfect Dark on a pentium4 1.6 GHz, while on the other side the other games I've tried run perfecly. I have tried several combinations of video plugins, and to change several options here and there, but the game is still completely unplayable. I even compiled mupen64 + plugins from source hoping to gain something if I optimized it for pentium 4, but no big changes...
Any suggestions? Thanks.

edit: I have a 256 megs ram on my pc, maybe too little? But as I said, other games, even if the rom is as big as Perfect Dark's , have no problems...

The CPU requirements for Mupen64 (Windows version) to run Perfect Dark at full speed right now are extremely high, so even a P4 1.6GHz might not be sufficient. It works fullspeed and is pretty smooth with Jabo's plugins for me but the sound is still very strange.

I see, so Perfect Dark is just particularly hard to emulate, and Goldeneye too... Too bad. :(

Just require a processor upgrade, because a Pentium 4 1.6 ghz likely is slower than an Athlon T-bird 1.3 ghz. Perfect Dark is actually easier to emulate than Goldeneye 007. Goldeneye 007 requires even a higher clocked processor than Perfect Dark. With my Athlon XP, I saw Goldeneye 007 still struggling to get 20 FPS when there are a lot of guards at 2.0 ghz.

A P4 1.6A would eat a 1.3 Athy for breakfast. If it's a Williamette 1.6, it's a different story.

Just like my P4 would kill your Athlon XP. :)
