My dad was buying a ting on eBay, and he made a $518 payment using PayPal. The problem (and it's a big one) is that the seller only acepted checks or money order, but my dad was very distracted (in fact is very distracted) and he payed using Paypal to the seller address. Now, the seller's e-mail, is not a Paypal account, so the seller has not claim the payment (not yet). The question is... it is possible to recover the money? The credit card transaction has already made to Paypal but the seller hasn't claim the money... is there hope or not?

Paypal, I believe, claims "send money to anyone with an email address, even if they don't use Paypal." You could try to contact the seller, eBay/Paypal, etc and ask how/what to do?

I think if the money isnt claimed, it gets credited back, it probably wont reflect on your credit card statement right away though

Well, it's been 2 weeks since the "payment" was made and still is not credited back, and BTW the transaction is already on the credit card statement... :(
