Euro 2004 is here!

Anyone else excited? A friend of mine is actually going on a road trip down to Portugal to watch Sweden's games, I'm just a wee bit jealous. ;)

I'm hoping we will do good this time, I think we got a pretty good team, but of course there are a lot of other teams that are stronger on the paper. However, we have Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrik Larsson as strikers, and when they play at top of their game they're world class.

Umm...what else...who do you think will win? :)

I'm really looking forward to it, especially our opening game against France. I'll be in a better position to tell you who's gonna win the tournament after that game I imagine ;)

England have a decent enough record in competitive matches under Sven, so we will hopefully go pretty far. Though many teams are in with a chance.

As always I don't have my hopes up too high when sweden plays but we should make it past the group games atleast :D Always something, and with a little luck we might even win the dam thing :P

France probaly has a pretty good chance of winning, england winning would be nice for Sven Goran Eriksoon, who is swedish :D, but I don't see that happening.

I'll place my money on Denmark, though. They haven't won anything in a while... ;-)

To be honest, it's not that I don't want England to do well. It's the commentators and press that drive me nuts, they hype it up to much!! They were talking about who they would be playing in the final before they even qualified!! And how often did they mention 1966 last night!! Ha ha

I'm flying tomorrow to Roskilde festival, where they have set up a 40 square meters screen to the camping site just to watch the Euro games. Should be a nice atmosphere in the Denmark game...

Yeah I enjoyed it, either team could have won it, and to use that old cliche, neither deserved to lose.

My tip from the start was Czech Republic, so we'll see how they do tomorrow :)

Yup, couldn't say it was a typical 0-0 game, lots of chances and Sweden hit the woodwork twice in extra time, but Van Nistelroy had lots of chances to score as well. If it hadn't been for the swedish goalkeeper Isaksson, The Netherlands probably would have won during the first 90 minutes though.

Truly amazing work by Greece! I'm genuinely pleased that a team that were to be totally honest rank outsiders has managed to get into the final - some great defensive work, and an attack that took the chances when they were presented.

Scolari is the old coach of my team: Grêmio. With him we won 2 national championships, 1 Libertadores of America (continental champ.), and lose against Ajax by details in Tokyo. I bet all my money on Scolari's team. Portugal always had good players, and now with one of the best Brazilian coaches, they will win. Hope they not make Brazil lose in the next world cup. :D

And here in Brazil, a strange fenomenon: a Portugal game stoping people to see their game. I never saw this before. Only Brazil's game stop the people to see soccer on TV. But now the Scolari's team stopped all people to see (and send all our luck :)) Portugal games.
