What is the difference between rom formats?

Well, I did what smiff wrote about renaming roms and it ruined some of them! (That once worked)

I used Tool64 v1.01 and CKRename.
GoodN64 mentioned they were OK but when I tried using pj64 on the roms it crashed!

Smiff wrote that it is safe. :hrm:

dont use that CKRename

tool64 is much more advance then Rtool or any of that stuff and easier to use IMO

smiff used to have some nifty descriptions of unflip, paladine, and a few other "rom" proggies that basically all just converted rom formats and CRC orders.. nothing big

tool64 should superceed all of those programs so its no real use to use them anymore.

But Tool64 does crash on a rom sometimes.

So if it crashed on a rom, just convert it to another format?
