Gundam Side Story 0079

I got problems with the memory card detection: even if I formatted the VMU, the game still displays a "CAUTION" message right after the memory card selection screen (looking in the bios, it is correctly mounted in control A socket 1 as indicated by the game), unfortunately, the rest of the warning is in Japanese, so I can't understand what's the problem is.

Any idea?

EDIT: tried with a Japanese save game, but to no avail...
