- Dead or Alive 2: crash... :bye3:
- Dynamite Cop: crash
- Ikaruga: runs smooth, but i can't configure the D-PAD on my joystick (PS2) 'cause DI manager. I play with keyboard
- Neon Genesis Evangelion: Type C - MMU error

- Love Hina 1 - Runs almost perfect (text errors)
- Love Hina 2 - like the first (i don't have any invisible sprite errors)
- Power Stone 2 - some glitches, fps unstable.
- Sonic Adventure 2 - seems that works ok, but i've the 'GeForce error', that it's, i get meshes' vertex screwed and it's unplayable.
- Psyvariar 2 - perfect (some menu issues), but the same problem as IKARUGA, DPAD on joystick.
- Shikigami no shiro 2 - as all shooters, perfect but DPAD problem and menu issues.
- Kanon: fully playable (if you know japanese :P )
EDIT:

This emulator really is superb especially considering it's a 0.1 release. Well done to whom it may concern.
I've only tried 3 games...
MSR
First game I tried. Option screens have some very minor gfx glitches but perfectly navigable. In game everything is fine with great speed but when you quit a race Chanka crashes.
Sonic Adventure
WOW - minor gfx glitches but otherwise fine. In fact, it runs better than the PC release of Sonic Adventure!
KAO Kangaroo.
Again no real problems. Perfectly playable.
I really am impressed. Dreamcast emulation has arrived!!!

WTF, who is this guy (LuChO86)?
Regarding the compatibility list, do you mind posting the VERSION of each tested game (PAL, US or JAP) and if it is intro-hacked? It would be much easier because some versions of the games work while others don't. It would be helpfull if you also posted your GFX card even if the game doesn't have any GFX errors (because there may be GFX errors on some cards). If you do, you'll make Stezo2k's job easier.
Stezo2k you should also add the version of each game in the list (if/when you can) in order to make the list more accurate.

Marvel vs. Capcom 2: Works on capcom hack, with some 2d glitches, good framerate like around 40 to 50 in-game.
Sonic Adventure 2: Some 2d glitches, plays, but I got a problem. When I play the first level on hero mode, like mid-way in the game, it hangs, but the music plays on, and on dark or evil mode, after I finish the first level on that, it gives me an error and then crashes. Great Emu,
I tested both Roommania #203(J) and Bomber HeHe(J) to be working.
Roommania works better with regular Chanka and Bomber HeHe prefers the new grafx Chanka.
Both have invisible menu issues, but the games are playable.
first screen is roommania, second Bomber HeHe

You can't really tell from just looking at the list of files, ip.bin and 1st_read.bin are present, even on non booting games.
However, I can confirm that the group released version of MVC2 is selfbooting by default (well mine is anyway)

sorry, DuDe, i think u misunderstood, check out my results from my test on page 8. i fully understand the fact it's alpha software, believe me i'm far from a noob as far as emulation is concerned. what i meant was.. why are there so many games that other people reported as wrking that simply won't wrk for me..... (again check my post on page 8)
plausable expalnataion being different regions, different selfboot methods, hell even different bootstraps (due to different rips echelon vs others etc etc)
i'm pretty confused as to why this is the case.... anyone else got any idea's?
edit...
i've tried in various systems i own, cd/dvd drive bares no effect on this.. guess my reasons above can be they only explanation for it.. doesn't matter. chankast still freaking rocks.

Just gonna post this before I go to sleep
Shadowman
The graphics are fine, except for some minor glitches.
The game also seems a bit dark but I think this has more to do with the game than the emu. The cutscenes are also skipped instantly.
No sound, except for some ambient background effects.
The framerate is mostly at around 30 fps, higher in closed areas, and lower when there's much on the screen such as in the screenshot.

I just tried Sonic Adventure 2 and it ran almost perfectly aside from a few graphical glitches.
The sound and music were pretty much immaculate, and I could even play it properly with a Sidewinder Pro controller. This Emulator Rocks.

Ikaruga : works at about 35 to 40 FPS, major slowdown when levels end, minor graphical glitches in the menus, there are also two bars showing on the sides when ingame that shouldn't be there.
I'm running an AMD XP 2600+ with 512MB DDR and a Radeon 9600.
by setting chanka's priority on high i managed to get around and average 50-60fps on ikaruga during mid level, but there is now a minor slowdown during level endings. I have managed to pull this off with several other programs running at the same time.
my specs
AMD XP 2400+ @ 2.0ghz w/ 512mbDDR and a Geforce FX 5200.

I tried a few games yesterday on my 2.5ghz p4, with a radeon 7500 and 512mb of memory.
Crazy Taxi 2: Runs pretty well, occasional slowdown when picking up passengers, few minor graphical glitches.
Ikaruga: Runs REALLY well, bit of slowdown at the end of a level, no major graphics troubles.
Illbleed: Intro runs great, but then game crashes when started.
Dead Or Alive 2, Limited Edition: Crashes on startup
Midway Arcade's greatest hits: "MMU not supported"
Dave Mirra BMX: Runs great (Only tested a little)

Border Down + Ikaruga [JP] [self-boot] (CDI) is bootable yet not playable.
The following issues are:
1: Loads up but can not use Directional Control
so you can only select Ikaruga.
2.: You can not use Directional Control so you can only use Game Start and not select any other options or even Exit game.
3: You can not use Directional Control so you can only play Normal Mode.
4: You can not use Directional Control so you can not move left, right, up or down away from on coming enimies which make this entire game unplayable.
EDIT// ok i have just found out that if you use the Keyboard it all works but on a Pad i have a Logitech Wingman Rumble with latest Drivers and it works fine on other Games ive tried just these ones direction pad analogue stick or povs will not work with a Pad.....
an input bug you think ?

June 3rd, 2004, 12:14
works for me, i just "save target as". I can explain the av cable error though. It has nothing to do with the emulator itself. This error would happen on the console itself if it was connected to the TV with a VGA cable and not composite cable since the game doesnot have VGA output capabilities (unless patched). I can't see this being remedied in future releases either, as a computer monitor can only have VGA input, so patching is the only way.Ill try the same with some other games.

To JKidd: U need to patch the CDloader.CDI file with the patch.exe first, then load it in chankast
posty_2k3

A little off-topic here. But for the VGA patch above, it needs a .cdi. So is there any app to covert the nrg to cdi?

Hmmm.... is it normal that Rival Schools 2 has no music ? I got an echelon rip and i'm not sure if the Music has been ripped off O.o
JKidd
June 3rd, 2004, 13:28
Probably ripped out. sham:Does the utopia even work like does it let you swap cds?
sham
June 3rd, 2004, 13:55
err good point, i havent tried.i dont think it does work because all I can do is unmount the image and mount another image on the virtual drive...which does absolutely nothing, but it needs to be tried with a few more games.By the way I used hex editor to enable VGA on MK gold (i had echelon version which was supposed to be Vga enabled anyway but it seemed one hex value was wrong), i didnt get the Av cable error message anymore, but instead i got a nice crash - so Mk Gold crashes at the SEGA screen.

i'm pretty sure it wasn't ripped out, i've got the echelon version myself, and don't remember them ripping it out
it's probably just the emulator, it is in alpha stages, so give it some time, nothings perfect

nobody seems to have responded to my question...
lots of the games listed as working do not wrk on my machine.. any ideas what the problem could be? bad dumps, different intro (echelon etc) different self boot methods? different regions? i dunno. page 8 shows my results and i dont get nearly as many wrking as u guys.
also, the english translation readme says win 2000 not supported...
