Hi there,
Im lookin' at buying one of two PS2 to USB adapters to use my PS2 Dual Shock on my PC. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with either of the following in PJ64? Easy to setup? Does the rumble effect work?

i use ps2 controls and they work fine. Its easy to set up, you just plug the adapter into the pc and plug your contoller into it. On pj64 just choose psx usb adapter from the control list and it's fine especially with N-Rages Direct Input plugin since that plugin supports analog sticks. The rumble works well if you have it turned on.

I use the second one (the ultimate USB Adaptor). Until now, I havent had any problems with it.
@Jammy
Could you tell me which config you chose to have rumble in PJ64? I also have N-rages Plugin and somehow I dont get any rumbling. Which games have rumbling where I can test it?

BTW, Jammy, where in PJ64 do you "choose psx adaptor from the control list". Im using NRAGE v1.82?

isn't that where you would open P64, then choose options --> settings, then choose the NRAGE selection from the pull down menu?

thats the one. Choose Options -> Configure Controller Plugin. Click on the Devide Tab, then under Gamepad Device, choose the contol you wish to use from there. As for rumble, in the contoller configure menu, click on the controller pak tab, Then highlight rumble pak from the menu, this works for me with Conker's Bad Fur Day

Hm... I just did what you said, but I still dont have rumbling with Conker. It still says, in the game, insert Rumble Pak. What kind of rumbling did you choose?

hmm, the rumble pack support for the PS2 USB adaptor for an N64 emu definately supports the PS controller. Is there anything that says the emu has to be able to recognize the controller as an N64 controller?

I was messing around in the settings for Nrage, and on the top, there is a shortcuts tab...I dont know yet, my adaptor's being shipped to me, but you could assign a button to "insert rumble pack"...(push this button when it say to insert rumble pack in the game) try that and tell me if it works...

Hm... just tried that out. In the game it says "Player 1 changed to rumble pak" but I dont think that rumble is activated then. When is the Controller supposed to rumble? When C dies?
In the config menu for the controller rumbling works.

One slight annoyance that I've heard of about the Dual Box:
Why does neither the controller work if analog is enabled (plugged in without holding analog button), and only supports vibration in digital mode? (2003-05-12)
It is due to a hardware limitation on the adapter. (2003-05-21)
This answer isn't exactly clear, but I imagine that this is some important limitatio n of the device.
Also, both controllers must be plugged into the adapter before the adapter is plugged into the USB port (if you want to use two controllers, that is).
