I know this is a stupid question, but is there a way to save the game?

There is a way, but i doubt anyone would go to all this trouble, and for one thing, i'm not sure it would work anyway. Run VMWare or something ,and save PC state :P
(i know for one thing it most likely won't work due to the weak gfx simulation in VMWare.)

VMWare, Virtual PC and the like are capable of running a Host OS within your current operating system. Not Save State on your Operating system.
