lagging bad on paper mario

When it starts to go into battle on paper mario it lags very bad I have rice's video plug in 5.5.0.

is there anything that I can do or is this a problem?

also does it during gameover

also when I go to the guy with the house with the spinning roof it does the same thing.

computer specs are
intel P4 2.4c
512 ram
radeon 9500 pro 128mb

I just recently started playing this game and I have the same problems. So I'd also like to know what can resolve this issue. ;) After searching through the posts, I haven't found anything except the flickering issue, which appears to be fixed (let's be thankful for that!).

edit- since we're both using RiceVideo, this should be in the 1964 forum. I get the problem with 1964, haven't tried PJ.
