Yeah, I'm another n64 emulator noob who ran into a problem I don't know how to fix. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I tried playing Donkey Kong 64 on nemu v0.7a and it loaded then it says I need the n64 expansion pak. Is there a patch I have to download? If so, once it's downloaded, where do I place it?

I also got nemu v0.8, but it doesn't load at all. I get a message that says "error opening file"

Thanks again, you guys seem to get a lot of threads like these. If you want, I'll delete this thread after I get the help I need.

DK64 doesn't work very well in Nemu 0.7, as you can hardly control the monkey. However, if you want to load it to try, go into options and set RDRAM to 8MB.

Also try to do this in Nemu 08, although I think it's enabled as standard.

Also, I'd check your ROM if I were you, since DK64 should at least work somewhat in Nemu 08. Search for GoodN64 on this forum to get more info on how to check if your rom is good.

Thanks Gorxon. I did it to 0.7 and it ran, but you are right that it is pretty crappy, and very sketchy. As for 0.8, it was already at 8MB, and it still won't load.

I did the GoodN64 thing, and it didn't seem to be any different from before.

Just a quick question, don't care if it's answered or not, how hard is it to make a rom? or at least, a decent running rom.

Thanks again.

Well, if you mean dump your own games that's not allowed to discuss on this forum, because we consider it to be in the grey area. You obviously need special hardware though.

If you meant making roms yourself, like demos and such, I am not really sure. Look around and see if you can find the source to some N64 demos and study it.
