Hi
I am new to Rice's plug-in and also 1964.
From many posts, Rice's video plugin is really good. But I think it's because i don't know any about graphics settings. But after playing around with the setting, the attached screenshot is the best I could make. It also very very laggy. Is there better setting for Smash Brother?? Or what else could be wrong??

My computer has
P3 866mhz
Geforce 2 MX400
384mb ram
DX9
Also, using Rice's plugin version 5.4.3

Please Help!!

use limited 2 stage combiner, disable Soft Clipper and Soft T&L........

you can use previous versions too, they're the best for geforce mx cards.....

try to NOT use autoCF and autoframeskip, this features can crash the game.....

Just use the d3d combiner and select the combiner for TNT/TNT2/Geforce/Geforce2.

that was one of the first things i did...
but it looks similar to the 2nd screenshot
like...there are white parts and not all the graphics are showing

yeah JaboD3D works fine..but i want to find an explaination why Rice's doesn't work...or even better a way to get to work

For your video card, it should work if you use DirectX 2-stage combiner. If your driver version is not above 41.19, you can use the DirectX TNT combiner which will work much better for you.

I am sorry. DX 2-stage combiner is not working.
I've attached the screen shot.
My driver is 53.03.

try to update to 56.64........ this driver correct many issues with other games... maybe will correct with Rice plugin......

worked for me (and heavily tested in my old XFX GF2MX400 64M) with previous rice's versions... give a try with 5.3x or previous 5.4x

Edit: Now i remember.... i had some problems with Rice + 53.03...... use 45.X, 52.x or 56.64 (not sure about 56.64 ver)
I cannot test now because i selled my old GF2 i have actually a GFFX5600... sorry

No luck with this one, even updated the video driver to 56.64

Software T&L, Software Clipper and Pixel Shader (for more compatibility & quality with NEW videocards)
and Framebuffer.....

Rice (The autor of plugin) had a GF2MX400 in the past..... now he have a Radeon9600...... this is why Rice plugins are the best for GF2MX

Have you tried 5.5.0b2 yet? Does that fix the problem. The games works perfect for me on defeult options.
