I download the (completly legal) swoop game from the official ambrosia software website. When I tried to open it, it said It needed nemu.exe to open. So I searched for it on google, and download the newest version of nemu. I got into nemu and tried to upload it, and it said "this is most likely not an N64 rom." I have a 2.527GHz Pentium 4, 512MB ram, a GeForce 4 420 mx, and a 80GB hard drive.

It doesn't work in Nemu because:

a) it isn't an N64 rom :)
b) it is for the Apple Mac as far as I can see

Why did it say it needed nemu.exe?

No idea :( Have you had Nemu installed at any point during the past? Your PC could have just decided it should use that to open this .bin file or something.

I had installed nemu a long time ago, but I think I deleted it.

I'm assuming you somehow had Nemu set up to be your default program for opening .bin files. You need a Mac emulator to run Swoop. I suggest Basilisk II, it can run any Ambrosia game that doesn't require a PowerPC proccessor.

Basilisk II can be quite difficult to set up, but this tutorial is pretty simple and in-depth, and should be sufficent for a simple game like Swoop.

I don't think the basilisk II site works. I just tried it.
