Allo..

Like any red-blooded American I own the Goldeneye game for N64. I have a large group of friends who play an online game together, and that game's server goes down a lot, and today they suggested searching for an Emulator that will play Goldeneye online.

I have been searching since 6, and it's 12:30 in the morning now. I have yet to find an emu that will do this. I have 2 versions of Goldeneye, so that's not my problem, I just need to find an emulator that will play it and go online.

I though 1964 was the one, but when I startup the game in that it just goes to the "CONTROLLER NOT IN PORT ONE" screen and does nothing else.

If you haven't noticed, I am quite clueless as to how to get these to work. :)

Help appreciated, if anyone has or knows of the Emu/Goldeneye game combo that will allow me to play online i will love you. If anyone can help, please be precise and descriptive because I don't want to be a hassle and keep asking questions. :)

None of the online playable emulators are really up to the task of playing Goldeneye online just yet. Though some are close, the amount of desync you will get will often lead to 4 of you having totally different games :/

i don't understand this stuff.

What if we all have the same emulator and same game file? (sent to each other so they would be all the same)

:/

Suprising that Goldeneye cant be played since it's the best 64 game there was. :/

We just tried to get PJ64k to go online with it, and the error is

Zip error: unzOpen(C:\Full Programs\Emulators\Nintento 64\roms\007_Goldeneye.zip) failed

hello mr. error message... i like english... ^_^ :/

...it's also one of the hardest to emulate.

Anyway, you likely didn't set-up N-Rage's plugin correctly with your gamepad. Make sure that it set-up correct. 1964 does have online capabilities, but Goldeneye probably won't work. You'll need the verified good dump [!] to play error free in theory too. Use GoodN64 [from the download section] to scan your roms to see what they are.

In language you will understand:

"Don't bother, it won't work well at the moment"

perhaps you need to unzip your file. I know Kalliera needs to have the .v64 file unzipped in order to play the actual ROMS. I have never tried to play Goldeneye online myself (I have the overdump version, and cant find the good version, damn the ESA).

I was beta testing 1964 and we ran some 2 player goldeneye tests. nothing more than 5 minutes max, but we didn't desynch. it played quite excellent actually. so, don't give up on it. contact me if you want to figure out how to set it up. even 2 player online i think youd be happy?

hmm

sorry to bump an old thread (lol) but hell, i made it, i think that's alright.

interested in this again, since i figured enough time had passed for it to be done by now. re-reading the thread, looks like i didn't even pay enough attention to it back in the day, as it was working. O_o

anyone have the emulator/rom combo that is known to work best now? if there is a "best"? thanks!
