Do you NEED a gamepad to play games in emulators or will a keyboard suffice?

Well I highly recommend it, but it's absolutely not required. A friend of mine refuses to use a gamepad for any game, including racing games.

The best solution IMO is to get an adapter that allows you to connect your N64 controller to your PC.

If you have the money, get an Adaptoid. If not, pray your N64 controller is compatible with the N64 + PSX adapter and same some money. Get either one here:
