I just accessed a menu called "advanced options" for Project 64. It has a few options such as "force blending", "force depth", and "disable internal geometry." If this section is accessed, you get a message saying, "Use at your own risk." It's not exactly clear, so what exactly are these risks?

Each option has a risk associated with it. Normally you won't need to touch these options. Often, Force Filtered Rendering is a benefit to most games. For the other options, check the Rom Notes and GameFAQ, as some of the options fix stuff in certain games (Force Depth Compare fixes Goldeneye Multiplayer etc.) Some options cause graphics glitches, check the manual for these:

Configuration > Plugins (default plugins) > Video > Advanced Tab.

Oh, that's not so bad. I thought that it meant risking damage to my computer.

I wouldn't worry about any PC damage! You only risk messing up the settings of the emulator so a game may not run as it should.

And if you really mess up the settings you can just copy the original ini into the folder.

Nope, then you need to press the "remove Project64 plugins/application settings" icon in the uninstall folder of PJ64.

To remove global settings yes. Rom specific settings are stored in the rdb.
