Got to do a course in SAS next year - does anyone know anything about it?

As far as I can work it it's some kind of data processing language. Has anyone on here ever used it? What I'd ideally like is somekind of freeware version to try before I start the course.

SAS is a statistical package. It uses PL/1 to program it.

Yah, and if you never heard of PL/1 its one of the oldest languages for modern computers.
