i am having trouble emerging xmms. during the compile i get the folloing error:

mv: cannot stat 'xmms.po': No such file or directory
make[2]: *** [xmms.pot] Error 1
make[2]: Leave directory '/var/tmp/portage/xmms-1.2.7-r20/work/xmms-1.2.7/po'
make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make[1]: Leave directory '/var/tmp/portage/xmms-1.2.7-r20/work/xmms-1.2.7'
make: *** [all-recursive-am] Error 2

!!! ERROR: media-sound/xmms-1.2.7-r20 failed.
!!! Function src_compile, Line 129, Exitcode 2
!!! (no error message)

this is where the compile stops. does anyone know what is going on here, and how i can fix it. this is happens when i do "emerge kde" and get to meda-sound/xmms-1.2.7-r20, and it also happens if i try and just "emerge xmms" by itself. help woult be great. thanks alot.

i did "emerge gettext xmms" but i'm still getting the same error at the same point. apparently other people are having the same problem with no explanation. i'm trying ACCEPT KEYWORDS="~x86" emerge xmms to get the newer "unstable" version. however, i've heard it works fine.

*works. apparently there is a problem with the 1.2.7-r20 ebuild

Since we're on this XMMS topic: Is there a way to send XMMS to the "systemtray" in SuSE.
Sorry for the silly question but I've been using Linux for only two days now...

I have a problem with this plugin: when I type ./configure, after some time checking everything it says: " *** The xmms-config script installed by XMMS could not be found.
*** If XMMS was installed in PREFIX, make sure PREFIX/bin is in
*** your path, or set the XMMS_CONFIG environment variable to the
*** full path to xmms-config.
configure: error: *** XMMS >= 1.0.1 not installed - please install first ***"

So I can't go on... What should I do????

what distribution are you using?

SuSE 9.0 but don't worry, I already fixed that, I needed the xmms development package, sorry for the inconvinience...
