MM blackness problem

In MM i'm at the part wher you need to take a picture of a pirate and show it to the fisherman. But, whenever i take a picture the screen goes black for a little bit so all my pictures end up looking like this:

Try using Jabo's D3D6 1.5.1 plugin as I believe it supports this effect.
