I have a VIA mainboard and it's having very bad framerate problems with halo. Also the latency for the pci slot is 128 and its hogging bandwith, how can I change that to a lower rate? Through the bios?

Thanks :gunman:

Dude, there's no way that you can get Halo running smoothly on your machine. Check out the game's official forums, people with machines that double the recommended requirements get low framerates with that game (like my machine for instance). It's a piss poor port, that's all.

Halo runs fine on my pc too, did you patch halo to the latest version 1.02 because it fixes performance problems on some systems.

try updating your bios, installing the via 4.51 hyperion drivers, and it wouldnt hurt to install the catalyst 3.9's/nvidia 52.16 depending on your card

i'm not sure how you can't get it running decent on your specs miller, if your trying to run it 1600x1200x32 with max af/aa then ya.. you might have a problem.

Try abandoning your chipset, sorry but via sucks arse. As for the game, yeah try what the other guys are suggesting.
