I have been able to run pj64 in the past, on my 1.1 duron/geforce3ti200. i now have a 2.2 athlon and a 9600pro 256mb card. i have latest drivers and directx, but it says that it couldnt initialize and to make sure my card is compatible.
i know this has been asked all over, as i have searched the forum, but no responses helped me. are radeons compatible? does anyone know if the new drivers are the problem, and which drivers work? when i use other plugins, like opengl, i dont get an error untill i try to run a game and the program quits. can someone help?

i see many people have read this post, surely someone has some input. i had formatted hours before installing pj64, so on a clean install it should be working. anyone?

Do all other D3D games work fine? One thing you could do is to go into DXDiag and disable D3D Acceleration and then renable it.

yes, i tried that before, and it still doesnt work. i also passed both tests, and all other games work fine. none of the other plugins have ever worked, except ONCE when i used the dealduas or whatever d3d plugin, then switched to jabos, and it worked untill i closed that rom. now whenever i try to use another plugin, it crashes. none of the previous versions work either. is it possibleto find an older version of jabos plugin? this is VERY frustrating.
ps, thanks for your timely response

Perhaps you should try out GLN64. This plugin is not only very fast, but it is very compatible and optimized for Radeon cards. Seeing as it's Open GL based, it should also provide a decent enough stop gap solution whilst you try to find out what is wrong with the D3D based plugins on your system.

wow.... look who keeps on top of things! i tried something remedial that no one suggested... run with comatibilty! i used 98, and d3d initialized! now, the sound didnt, but im not worried about that, im sure i can either fix jabos sound or use another plugin. thanks trotter, maybe this could be a suggestion for people later.

ok, it was my soundmax motherboard drivers that caused the problem. i still have no sound but i think ill install a sound card instead of onboard sound.

That's odd. I have the soundmax thing on my motherboard as well, which I use, and PJ64 works fine with my radeon 9000... I updated my drivers not long ago too, so that's really weird. Lets see... uhhh... I'll think about this. :)
