This is absolutly amazing. Thanks goes out to the 'anonymous' author for giving me these screenshots and more importantly for putting in so much time and hard work to create your emulator. Best of luck.

After a hard days work seeing news like this makes it so nice to come home, makes it worth it.. Great work whoever is responsible. And speed doesn't strike me as an issue quite yet...

Nice job !
Anyone thought that LaC & Lemmy might be the developpers of this emulator ? I think it might be possible, but the GUI isn't fancy enough for an emu made by Lemmy according to me. (The Nemu64 GUI looked nice even at version 0.02!).
I know Azimer has the skills, but for some reason I don't think he's the one that developped this. Don't ask me why, I just think he's not the "anonymous" guy.

Trotterwatch: look at the name, Dolphin, that's a little to shy for Lightknight... It would have emulatore written all over it... :P

This is truly incredible news! Who woulda thought that GC emulation would be so far, so soon?
Sure would be cool to write the video plugin for that! :D

Everyone is getting their panties in a bunch and perhaps in a year or 2 we'll actually be able to play something with our 15ghz, 64bit AMD processors at a decent framerate. :P

the author isnt lemmy heh

If marty would turn out to be the author that would be so sweet, no idea of what degree of irony aprentice had when he wrote his reply.. Lemmy would otherwise be the obvious choiche, talent, dedication and interest..
It's obviously someone close to emulation64 / emutalk since Redah and Malcolm seems to be the first ones to know... FiRES and / or rice could also be a good guess as well as rcp, I remember he wrote that he had something new in the making for a long time ago... And there could very well be a couple of new names.. Looks like we are in for a sweet autumm. :D
Hmm, I guess we are on a need to know basis as always... ;)

The author will come up sooner or later. I'm just amazed that someone actually got a game to run on a gamecube emulator. I wonder how it will run on my new pc when I get it.

Assuming it will be released in a near future which I rather not see, secret and a little hush hush so that the authors can work in pease and without pressure seems like the ideal deal. Dolwin is already released and plays a couple of demos which is plentiful at the moment...

Impressive.
To me this also sports the double revelation that the disc dumps are in fact real.
Well then, how's that? Next gen console - emulated before it's cracked! =) Good job Nintendo.

don't feel like going back to quote the guy who said something about the GUI not being fancy enough for the author to have been someone... but keep in mind, this is still development.
i wish this author would at least give us some kind of codename to refer to him by until he reveals himself, because "the author of that new gamecube emulator" is far too much to type, and "anonymous" is far too uninformative.
DesktopMan
September 26th, 2003, 08:54
Keep on guessing :P
Of course the emulator will be faster. Atm it's build for compatability, not for speed. (more or less) Dynarec will really improve speed, plus "normal" optimizations aswell. You still need a kickass computer though :)

Of course we'll keep on guessing, I read some posts over at NGEMU and got the impression that it's someone who has been around for quite a while. And who obviously is talented, anyways it would be kickass if you jumped on the next gen bandwagon Orkin.. :D

Holy crap!!!!!!!! I can't believe the progress. Can't wait until HLE and stuff are in. I almost died when i saw this :D . What I really want to know is if he was able to find a way to load the game from the mini-dvd in his dvd-rom drive. Or if he used an image file, where the hell did he find a place that has them.

Maybe it's a fired Nintendo GameCube programmer who got pissed off at Nintendo and decided to turn around and see if he could lose Nintendo any money :P
or perhaps the authors are just very determined microsoft programmers :D remember how badly they got their backsides kicked when they tried to buy Nintendo? :P

15 ghz processors probably would perhaps require a 1000W power supply
and possibly 24V rail instead of a 12V rail. Wait, our electric bills could
skyrocket with the future processors.
