View Full Version : N64 & 64DD For Sale (& general 64DD banter!)

Well, I'm considering selling my 64DD and thought I'd see if anyone here wants to buy it before I advertise it on eBay and the like.
Basically you get the 64DD drive itself, a Jap N64 system (you need this to use it ;) ), all the stepdown transformers and leads and shit, all of the 64DD software they made (to the best of my knowledge), including the F-Zero X-Pansion Pak (read my review on Emu64 here (http://www.emulation64.com/n64reviews.php?threadid=10330)), Mario Paint 64DD (all 3 of them), etc.. Also comes with a few blank discs, the capture cart, and the mouse.
By all means, PM me if you have any questions, etc, or if you want to make me a sensible offer. ;)

No... Not the N64 DD? :D
Hehe, to all of our new members : the entire DD story goes way back, probably back to the old board days (when there was no Emutalk, but this board was rather emulation64.com/board).

Y'all know you want it! ;)

Why don't you give it to Schibo or Rice so they can emulate this device ;)

Or lend it to them and sell it after they are through with it, assuming they want something to do with it... ? ;)

Don't think so.
Would be great to see a DD emu though. :D

The carts could be dumped using an EEPROM reader, assuming the user knew how to use it. =) Someone should do it! Jaz, donate to a good cause! :D

wasn't LaC looking for one? let me check
(15 September 2000) In search of a 64DD
I am currently looking for anyone who can supply me with a 64DD and/or 64DD disks/games. I've seen several people offering to sell their 64DD devkits on ebay and on some message boards. I really don't need the 64DD devkit. I really just need the 64DD and games, but I'll take whatever you can offer me. I need this stuff mainly so that I can reverse engineer the 64DD and add support for it in Nemu. Also I will be able create dumps of the 64DD disks. Now is your chance to help Nemu... please contact me by eMail if you have any info. Thanks!

I agree, sell/lend it to someone who can dump/reverse engineer/emulate the 64DD, very few people have it, and if it was emulated, then you could get it out there.

well if you read the 8.0 release news update you will see that the only think that would make him continue on nemu would be the 64dd
I may pick it up again, particularly to add 64dd support.

just a quick question before we think about dumping. What knowledge is there of the 64DD hardware?

Yeah, I think most of us have read that message a couple of times... The point is that if Jaz would send his 64DD to LaC, and he not wanting it, but ends up doing it out of obligation... Where's the fun in that?

The point is that Jaz is selling his 64DD, not loaning it! ;)

Yeah, I though about that to. ;) Free will, never heard of it... :P If there's interest here maybe you could set up an pay pal account and let members donate until you have a good deal and then slip it off to one of the authors...
A good deal is when you screw people and they don't find out... :P

I would say loan it to Guru of MAME dev to have all the carts properly dumped, but I don't know if he would be interested...email him though.

uhm..folks, nice ideas and all but jaz most certainly paid a *fair* amount of money for that bitch and now y'all expecting him to give it away for free, good cause or not ... give the man compensation, he deserves it.
remote's idea would sound good to me if theres an author seriously considering emulating the 64dd.

August 29th, 2003, 08:58
My idea isn't giving it away though. It's merely a loan to the best dumper on the planet. There are tons of people that lend him very rare arcade PCB's all the time. In fact, an entire Naomi GD-ROM system was DONTATED to him.
I'm just suggesting having him dump any BIOS that may be in the system, and get good dumps of all the carts available for preservation. And he may be interested, since he just started dumping the arcade N64 boards...

I second Reznor007's suggestion, let GURU dump everything first, then sell it.

Yes, also a good suggestion which would indeed make it a unique piece of material which could boost the price quite a bit... ;)

Nope. And also, I can't read Japanese. So it wouldn't be that delightful for me.

*lol* Yeah, at first trying to design a track on F-Zero X can be a bit daunting. But it's amazing how quickly you pick it up. ;)
Davemc
August 31st, 2003, 03:33
I'd make the nastiest track I could. Like some of the X-Cup ones with no sides and an impossible bend that goes uphill. They are always generated at the time they are needed most in the 4-player first to 100 points matches we have. :)
F-Zero GX... I don't know if it will have as much of a lifespan with no random track generator. But hey, it's still gonna be a great game.

I've never played one, I didnt even know they ever really saw the light of day, id LOVE to get my hands on an F-Zero Expansion, I love the F-Zero, I love it so much.

They came out as a subscription-only package in Japan. You paid in monthly installments, and you got the software delivered to your door when it came out.

That could be a nice idea, maybe you could lend/sell/donate it to an n64 emu author.

so are you going to sell it or what! do you have doshin the giant? cause i'd be glad to buy it but maybe we could work out some sort of trade with money added on, but the first thing i'd do is send it out to an emu author to dump, the mame guy sounds promising, but i think you should at least do that before selling because it'd make not only you but alot of other people REALLY happy. Think about it, you'd still have your awesome 64dd stuff when the dev is finished, i mean come on, what have you got to loose by getting it dumped first!

September 16th, 2003, 11:24
/me thinks someone should set up a *give it do a dumper or emu developer fund* to which we could all donate :)

Yup, and aside from the F-Zero disc, it's by far the best piece of DD software.
