My comp to me is up to date but i keep getting an error similar to this
Direct3D failed to initialize your HAL device make sure you have a properly configured 3D graphics card compatible with Directx 3D 6.0

Try redownloading and reinstalling Direct X 9.0a if you haven't already. Try updating your video card drivers as well if needed.

You might have your monitor set in 24 bit color. You have to set it to 16 or 32 bit.
