So...do you know of any good place to get a dvd burner? I care for one thing; buffer underrun protection...anything else doesn't matter, as long as it's cheap :)
Ju st wondering if any of you knew something...I'll try to hunt some for myself, too, though.

The cheapest DVD burners out are more expensive than most high-end video cards.

I've found one for $294 in my country (which is pretty expensvie too! Plus that I looked a a normal retailer [you know that they have normal prices; not low]), so...
there must be some cheap ones out there.
Oh, and a high end card can cost up to around as much as $449.

I might add, Plextor makes the best laser media drives such as CD-Roms/Writers and DVD-Roms/Writers in my opinion. They are a little more expensive, but you get what you pay for.

I said *MOST* high-end video cards. Today's two best are $499...
$294 is more expensive than a Radeon 9700 Pro.
Eagle's listed burner should work, and that's stunningly cheap.. but it looks like it burns at 1x. So be warned. Burning a full DVD could take 2-4 hours.

That's around 2300 say. That's about what you can get a gf4 ti4800 today...
But well, I think it isn't THAT expensive...
Anyway, thanks for the link, I'll go check it out!
EDIT: I don't seem able to find the burner you mentioned...I found one for $167, though...think you can find it again? That site isn't exacly the best for you to find what you're looking for...

So erm, you might wanna give a link to these? Dvd burners are hard to find there imo.
And the previously dvd burner you listed only ships in USA, those fucking bastards.

The dvd burner I have is not too expensive. It only burns DVD+r/rw disks, but burns them at 2.5x/4x so it's fast. I've burned a full 4.7gig DVD+r disk in 10 minutes. It also has underrun protection.
I bought it online for about $150(US). CDrw burners are drastically going down in price nowadays.

They are not even worth the bother at the moment, wait until they develop more and the prices drop.

You can get the refurbished model which comes with the burner and a dvd burning software for $116(US). I usually use Nero though. Or get the new OEM model for $165(US). You can also find this burner at pricewatch.com .
I also needed a DVD burner since my movies on CDr's were piling up too much. ;)
