some games have back-up memory, so you don't have to quicksave all the time.

but if I burn the emulator and roms with back-up memory on cd, and reinstall windows etc. (don't know how to say it...), then my savestates created with F5 on pj64 will be lost.

but what about the game's back-up memory? Let's say, I have finished the game, and all levels can be played again, for example in yoshi's story (again:doh: ). will all levels still eb palyable, because the back-up memory has saved it?

okay it could be said in one sentence, but my english vocabulary is BADBADBAD:doh: so the right words never exist...

The rom itself can't save games into the n64-file (rom means "Read Only Memory"). You need to burn the eeproms and the quicksaves on a cd too.

To further clarify, just back up your entire "save" directory. Remember to zip everything before you burn it. If not, you'll need to remove the read-only designation after copying the files back to your hard drive.
