Hey guys, i've had my pc about 3 months now, it's been working fine, but on some boot ups (usually recently) my processor fans making a really loud noise, i cleaned the fan out yesterday, and it seemed ok when booting up. However, i have booted it today and the noise comes back, any body know the problem?
take a listen:

I can't listen to the MP3 file from work I'm afraid - but I will say, if in doubt move it out. If the fan fails then it'll cost you a great deal more to replace the proccessor + fan, that it would just to upgrade the fan now :)
The bearings in the fan could be going or something similar, though for 3 months worth of usage that sounds slightly odd - could also be something such as vibration (ensure it fits on the heatsink snuggly).
Once the fan has entered the running state for a long time, does the noise go away? If it does, then you should be fine - starting up is one of the most stressful times for components within a computer (starting from cold).

The noise of a cooler doesn't matter. The cooler of my power supply AND the processor are now already for 2 years making extremely much noise (especially when booting). This means that the cooler is a little out of balance and it vibrates a little.

My old server's powersupply used to make a buzzing sound, most likely from a loose wire hitting against the fan or vibrating against something. When that happend I just *forcefully* removed the top of the case and banged on the top of the PS with the back end of my screwdriver until it stopped. But that's just me ;):saint:

1) It's quite annoying
2) It means that your fans have sleeve bearing and it requires a drop of oil every three months or it will jam.
4) Good cooler - it's about 6-12$
