everyone says 1964 runs goldeneye and perfect dark faster than pj64, but I tried it and 1964 is real choppy on my system. And I couldn't get the sound to work either (tried 3 different plugins!). Well, pj64 is really fast on my system, so I'll just stick with that I think.

1964 uses some weird overclocking technique and hacks to get extra speed. It also has higher CPU priority which is extemely bad for multitasking.

1964 is 25% faster than PJ64, and has near the same compatibility, but there are several reasons why people uses Project64 instead of 1964:

1) 1964 is less stable than PJ64
2) Jabo's directsound doesn't work
3) Choppy audio

But there are reasons too why people uses 1964 instead of Project64:

1) 1964 is faster
2) More counter factors (to change the speed)
3) Resident Evil 2 does work

And to get sound on 1964, use Azimer's audio 0.30 (old driver) for good sound, or 0.40 beta, and you should give 0.50.2 a try too (be sure the RSP-plugin is enabled too). They are all downloadable from the downloads-section.

Can't remeber on which emulator, or both, but Goldeneye does have a few issues.

The sky is always in all emulators a problem (Jabo's GFX 1.5 can render it partitially).
