I'm not sure this is an issue with Project64, but I've looked at dozens of faqs and nobody else seems to be having this problem. Epona's song doesn't seem to work except in places where the music bar immediately appears as soon as you hold up your ocarina. For example, playing in front of cows doesn't provide milk and Epona won't come to me when I play her song inside the coral as adult link. I've tried everything I can think of, including playing the song for Malon in the coral at night (which worked fine), but nothing helps. Does anybody have any ideas?

Sometimes it happens to me in Hyrule Field when I use Epona's Song, Epona does not appear. I think it happens when Epona is far away and/or gets caught on an object. As for the milk problem, make sure your in the milking position (near beside the cow)

Of course, when an obstacle is in the way, epona fails to arrive. That's an issue even in the real game.

I've tried playing the song when standing right next to Epona (as close as I can get without her running away). Also, I've tried milking the cow from all positions: front, sides, and back. However, it's good to know that the problem isn't with Project64, since other people aren't having a problem with it. Could it be a fault in the game ROM itself?

Maybe you should try with another ROM. It seems there are a couple of Zelda OoT Rom variations out there. I have what I suppose is a normal one, and a roms that says Zalda v1.1 , but I don't know what that means.

I was right after all! Epona's Song worked perfectly on Project64 v1.4, using the same saved game and rom I had been using on v1.5
Where should I report this bug?

Then what's this:

Are you using version 1.5? I got it to work fine on 1.4, but it still doesn't work in 1.5
Again, same save file, same rom, just different versions of Project64
PS: To test this out, I opened my save game in 1.4, got epona, and saved the game. Then I opened the same save file in 1.5. When I tried to summon Epona in 1.5, it still didn't work. So either my version of 1.5 is corrupted somehow, or there's a glitch.

maybe its just a glitch I have 1.5 and it works perfect for me.

Works perfectly in 1.5, but in your case I'd just continue using 1.4 as it saves you trying to fix a problem you have already worked around.
If you really want to sort this out, verify the rom with GoodN64. If its a bad rom (there are a few for this game) use a Bad2Good Patch.
Details of all this can be found by searching these forums.
If the problem persists re-download PJ64 1.5. Change your plugins and see if that has any effect.

I just deleted project64 1.5, downloaded a new version and reinstalled. It worked fine. I'm not sure what went wrong with my original copy... maybe it didn't like me unziping with winRAR or something. Regardless, thanks everybody for all your help.
