I would take a screenshot of my gentoo install, but I don't think you'd care to see bash, as I have no reason to install X on my server

Man, this is nice. The only thing I miss from Mandrake is the nice GUI config tools... But I'm sure I'll find something. And working with raw config files isn't too bad when almost everything is nicely documented.

I don't think the majority of those configs are exclusive to mandrake. Try an 'emerge programname' on each of em, see what you manage to get.
