View Full Version : Zelda: MM & Advanced Block Linking

When I'm playing Zelda:MM I have to turn advanced block linking off to avoid some major stuttering issues.

However sometimes (occasionally) PJ64 (or 1964) doesent really take it off and the game is still stuttering! What I mean is that even if in rom settings ABL is off it still stutters and only when trying it with off and on and off and on it sometimes starts working.

This is *very* annoying since this "swapping" procedure takes about 15 minutes before it works and sometimes it just doesent work despite the effort.

I do not write my specs since they are not relevant in this issue.
I have installed PJ64 1.5 and 1965.

I'm using jabos. 3d6 1.5 (using 3d71.4 doesent show all image e.g. it doesent show bottom of the screen)

Any ideas?

We cannot help you without knowing and posting what you
have for PC hardware. That includes motherboard,
processor, video card, RAM and OS.

Athlon TB 1333Mhz
Asus A7V
384M SDRAM
Ati Radeon 64M DDR ViVo
Win 2000 SP3

Note that when I somehow manage to turn ABL off the game runs just perfectly. But when I can't get it off it stutters in some scenes for example when using lens of truth and the is secret revealed....

Make sure for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
and The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, advanced block
linking is set to off under ROM settings.

Are you serious????

My whole thread concerns just and only Advanced block linking!
Of cource I know it must be turned off to this game, BUT IT DOESEN'T GO OFF! This is my whole point.

A bug in the dll? if it is, its annoyning as hell since it takes sometimes even 30min to get it really OFF that the game is not stuttering anymore.

Anyways, because nobody knows how to fix it I have using 3d71.4 plugin, and it is worked perfectly (when it doesent give the black screen of death in the beginning of the game).

IMO when final version was released you guys should have marked in zelda notes that USE 3d71.4 PLUGIN.

Cheers :P

Well, you know that jabo's 1.5 plugin works ok here. This isn't an all-around issue.

Yes.

To permanently turn off advanced block linking,
you are *required* to do the following:

Run the game you want to change the setting for.

Go to the Options menu.

Go to Settings.

Select the Rom Settings tab.

Change Advanced Block Linking from Default to Off.
